The radio voice of a new generation is remembering one of his personal idols. Ryan Seacrest is paying tribute to "Classic AT40" host Casey Kasem following the news of his death.
Seacrest, who took over for Kasem on "Top 40" in 2004, says in a statement that "it's a sad day for the broadcasting community and for radio listeners around the world." The "American Idol" host recalls tuning into the program every weekend as a kid and dreaming about being on the airwaves.

Kasem was 82 when he passed away over the weekend. He had been in a Washington-state hospice.
