An Oahu Community Correctional Center inmate attempted to escape Thursday, but thanks to the quick action of an adult correctional officer, Chad Teisina was unsuccessful. The guard in one of the towers saw Teisina run across the recreation yard, then scale a fence at about 9:40 a.m. He alerted guards on the ground and they surrounded the 16-foot-tall, razor-wire fence from both sides, even before Teisina made it to the top. He was brought down and handcuffed. He suffered puncture wound from the razor wire and was transported to the hospital for treatment, then taken back to OCCC. Sheriffs are investigating the incident.
