Posted July 16th, 2014 @ 10:37am

A former school clerk will spend a year in jail as part of her sentence for theft. Christine Atisanoe pleaded no contest to second-degree theft in February in connection to stealing nearly $20,000 from Ka Waihona O Ka Na'auao Public Charter School. The thefts took place between January 2010 and March 2012 at a time when she was employed as a clerk for the school and was responsible for collecting and depositing payments. Tuesday, a judge sentenced Atisanoe to five years probation including one year behind bars.
