The two finalists for the next University of Hawaii president position are being interviewed Tuesday during a special meeting that began at 9 a.m. and was open to the public. The university Board of Regents says the interviews were open in "the spirit of transparency." Public testimony was heard before the interviews began. Some are concerned that finalist retired General Frank Wiercinski, who led the U-S Army Pacific, has no experience in public education. The other finalist is interim president David Lassner.
