Listen to As I Lay Dying on iHeartRadio

The lawyer for As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis is suggesting that the rocker's steroid use may have had something to do with his alleged attempt to hire a hitman to kill his estranged wife.

According to "U-T San Diego," Lambesis was in court Friday asking the judge to reduce his bail from three million dollars.  The judge eventually lowered it to two million dollars, although Lambesis' lawyer, Thomas Warwick, had asked for $250,000.

The defense attorney also argued that Lambesis' "thought processes were devastatingly affected by his steroid use."  Warwick explained that Lambesis started using steroids around the same time he got into body building and healthy eating.

Lambesis pleaded not guilty to solicitation for murder after he was arrested earlier this month.  His As I Lay Dying bandmates, meanwhile, have cancelled their planned tour with Killswitch Engage.  The trek was scheduled to start next week, but the band says it's best if they say off the road while "the current situation gets sorted."
