About 250 skateboarding and bicycle helmets will be given away to students of all ages during half-time at the Hawaii Pacific University men's basketball game Monday night. The annual event is known as Kam's Helmets in memory of former HPU hoops player Kameron Steinhoff, who died in 2011 from brain injuries resulting from a skateboard accident. The school is offering one free helmet per student, and everyone must get fitted and sign a waiver before picking up their helmet. The game begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Neal Blaisdell Center.
