Damien Memorial School broke ground at 10:30 a.m.Wednesday for the new Clarence T.C. Ching Athletic Building. Lieutenant Governor Shan Tsutsui, Bishop Larry Silva, Police Chief Louis Kealoha and Fire Chief Manny Neves were on hand for the ground-breaking ceremomy. The new $3.29 million building will be the school's first multi-purpose sports facility and will include a judo-wrestling room and weight room, space for physical education classes and sports programs. Construction on the building will take at least nine months.
