An Oahu grand jury Tuesday indicted a 30-year-old surfer on an attempted-murder charge for allegedly driving at and hitting a 73-year-old woman with her car in Waikiki last week. Jill Hansen was charged with second-degree attempted murder, unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and attempted unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle. Her bail was set at $1 million. Hansen was arraigned Monday in District Court and tried to escape while being processed at the intake area of Oahu Community Correctional Center. Toni Schwartz, spokeswoman for the Department of Public Safety, said quick work by staff members prevented Hansen from even getting out of the intake area.
