Big Island firefighters Sunday morning rescued two teenage boys who got separated from their parents while hiking the Mauna Loa summit. The boys got lost at 6:10 p.m. Saturday and spent the night on the summit away from their parents. Firefighters responded at 5:45 a.m. Sunday with two ground teams and a chopper. A ground team found the boys and took them back to the parking lot where they were reunited with their parents. No injuries were reported.
