The University of Hawaii at Manoa is establishing a Chinese language flagship program. Officials from the College of Languages, Linguistics and Literature say they recently received funding for this new program. This becomes only the 12th such flagship in the U.S. Language flagships receive grants from the National Security Education Program to expand and enhance teaching, research and service in order to train students to professional levels of language proficiency.
