A city crew is trying to repair dozens of parking meters that were vandalized over the weekend. Police believe the vandals struck sometime in the Kailua Square parking lot between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. The vandals may have used some sort of caulking adhesive to fill in the coin holes, so those who parked, then tried to feed the meter were unsuccessful. The city says it will not ticket those who parked there and could not feed the meters because of the vandalism. Police are hoping surveillance video from nearby stores may help with tracking down the vandals.
