Dinner at BLT's 10th Anniversary!

Dinner at BLT's 10th Anniversary!
Posted March 5th, 2014 @ 1:39pm

I'm back from vacation and on one of my last days I went the the special 10th anniversary party for BLT Steakhouse in Trump Tower, Waikiki.  I don't normally make it into Waikiki, but this time was special.  In honor of their 10th anniversary on March 3 (3/3) they marked down a number of menu items to just $3.03!

I took advantage of the deal by ordering 3 appetizers, 5 sides, an entree and 2 deserts! Ooof, I'm stuffed just remembering it all.  Fortunately I had help from the lovely, Lauren!

The service was awesome, despite the crowd (they were very busy), and the food was amazing.  Our friend Cass, the sommelier brought over some special wine and we ate like kings for not-a-lot of money!

Here's what we had: Caesar Salad, Roasted Beet Salad, Grilled Double Cut Smoked Bacon, Filet Mignon, Grilled Asparagus, Creamed Spinach, Green Beans, Potatoes Au Gratin, Gnocchi, Crepe Soffle, Peanut Butter Chocolate Mousse.

We ordered the starters, realizing we were about to order too much food - so we ate carefully.  Both salads were fresh and fast, they went down quick with wine.  Then when the sides/entree came, it was go time.  Lauren and I picked at each of the sides, and put some steak on our plates.  The fillet, a 12oz prime cut of Fillet Mignon, was cooked perfectly.  Each bite was better than the last.  I was particularly careful to smear the included pat of butter all-over. Oh yeah!

Our favorite side was the gnocchi, followed by the bacon. Bacon would have won, but it was a little too thick - almost like a steak.  Too much bacon is possible, I guess.  We barely had room for desert, but the Peanut Butter Chocolate Mouse with Banana Ice Cream didn't stand a chance.  We crushed it.

It was all so delicious.  So GOOD! We'll go back again soon!  I was happy to see so many locals in the restaurant.  It was a sold out night, and I think almost every table was Kama'aina!  Guess now we all know the secret spot in Waikiki.
